Pembelajaran Matematika Berbantuan Kalkulator: Studi Kasus Penggunaan Kalkulator Texas Instrument TI 89 pada PBM Matematika di SMK MUHAMMADIYAH IV YOGYAKARTA

During teaching learning process, the teacher should serve what the
student need. During serving the student, the teacher never released from
teaching method. There are so many teaching methods. But the teacher must smart
to select which one is more effective (the method that relate with the factual
event and involving the five sense).
The teacher can support student to use calculator to help their self
understand about the materials. In the “negara maju” calculator have important
rule during learning mathematics process. They use calculator start from
elementary school until high education.
There are two type of calculator (look from the usage). They are ordinary
calculator and scientific calculator. Ordinary calculator compute the result
first by first depend on the input, meanwhile the scientific calculator compute
by using mathematics rule.
In the teaching learning process, the teacher must teach and support how
to use the graph calculator to solve the problem, because the basic problem is
the student’s confuse about how to change mathematics language into calculator
language (input data).
There are some steps that can be done when calculator using as a tool of
learning:

The first step is about understanding
the importance of graph calculator

The second is understanding theory and
using graph calculator to solve the equalities and inequalities problem
·
The third is enter the data to the
calculator
·
The fourth is interpret the result in
the calculator’s screen
·
And the last is make a conclusion
Calculator can be learning tool during learning process. Calculator can
help to understand the concepts, can help strengthen computation ability, and
also make the problem solver more realistic. It will also effect to student’s
desire to learn mathematics.
